Tighten Door Lock

These lock sets both interior and entry models once the standard are now rarely used. Attach the interior part of the deadbolt lock by inserting the two provided long screws through the interior plate the two screw holes in the bolt and into the exterior side of the lock. Next stick the key in the hole and turn it back and forth a few times. Step 1 stand on the inside of the door with the schlage deadbolt handle facing you.

Tighten the long screws that secure the lockset s mounting ring to the door. You can tighten a simple interior mortise lockset like the one shown at left as follows. A setscrew located in the knob s sleeve tightens down on the square face of the spindle preventing the knob from turning on the spindle when operated. 2 hold the knob on the other side of the door and turn the loose knob clockwise until it fits snugly. Open the door and tighten all hinge screws with a screwdriver. Hand thread the screws then tighten them using a screwdriver or power drill.
